Develop a positive outlook on life: Overcoming the victim mentality

“Never feel sorry for yourself because no one owes you anything.”

To progress in life, you have to ditch the victim mentality, which says why me? Why does it always happen to me? To name a few. The question should be, why not you? People tend to become victims of their own words, feeling sorry for yourself does not change the situation nor make it better. It is vital not to let anything dictate how you feel and behave. It does not matter how fearful you are about where your next meal or paycheque is coming from. Whether you'll get that job, or get admitted to study that course you really want. The main thing is what you do in between and your attitude towards the situation. Speak positively and reposition yourself for success by thinking like you already have those things. Tune out the noise and say some positive affirmations each morning and throughout the day. Immediately you do this, you'll notice a change in how you feel and your attitude towards the things you desire.

Never feel sorry for yourself because no one owes you anything, always be ready to try another door. Don't wait idly for one opportunity to avail itself for you to be proactive. This way, you can never be at the mercy of anyone, but you'll always be able to move on if something does not work in your favour.

Those that invest in you when you have setbacks are the champions of your success and you should never forget them during your comeback season.

The Oxford dictionary defined fear as "An unpleasant emotion caused by the belief that someone or something is dangerous, likely to cause pain or a threat. It would appear to me that fear has a hierarchical order.

Terror, on the other hand, is defined as extreme fear, while being afraid, is classified as being frightened or nervous. Terror is at the ultimate end of the scale of fear, this explains why those that can exercise unparalleled boldness to go through those terrifying processes or situations always come out at the top. Successful people have mastered fear, in fact, they understand that fear is a doorway to success. I often hear the phrase, "Success is addictive," no wonder then, that after tasting success they never stop. They'll continue pushing even further, and this seems insane and risky to the average person.
